As the summer comes to a close, the young royals Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are enjoying their final holiday moments before returning to school at Lambrook.

The Welsh family have just returned from their summer break and a visit to Balmoral, preparing for the new school year at their home in Adelaide Cottage. In previous years, Princess Catherine has been seen taking her children shopping for school clothes and shoes. One notable trip was to Peter Jones in London, where she had to borrow socks so George and Charlotte could try on new shoes. During this shopping trip, the family were spotted in a popular store, mingling with other shoppers.

Eyewitnesses noted that they appeared relaxed, with Catherine letting her children choose some of their own items. The children, dressed casually, were excited and engaged in choosing toys and clothes like any other child. The move to Lambrook School in 2022 marks a new chapter for the Welsh family after they left Kensington Palace. The prestigious boarding and day school, set in the Berkshire countryside, caters for children aged three to 13 and has a range of facilities, including an orchard, woodland, nine-hole golf course, swimming pool and cricket pitch.

Currently, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are day pupils, benefiting from a well-rounded education that encourages both academics and outdoor activities. Before Lambrook, Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended Thomas School in Battersea, renowned for its strong curriculum and emphasis on kindness. Meanwhile, Prince Louis started at Wilcox Nursery School in South Kensington, following in the footsteps of his siblings and gaining a solid foundation in early childhood education.

As the children grow older, Prince George will soon move on to secondary school. Last summer, he was seen visiting Eton College, where his father, Prince William, studied. William was the first senior royal to attend Eton, followed by Prince Harry. The visit has sparked speculation about whether George might also attend Eton, which is famous for its high annual fees of £46,000 and reputation for excellence.

Alongside their formal education, the young royals also take part in regular activities, such as going shopping with their mother, Princess Catherine. She is often seen helping Prince George and Princess Charlotte get ready for school by making sure they have the right clothes and shoes. These outings provide a glimpse into the more mundane aspects of royal life, showing that the future kings and queens are also involved in regular household duties.

As the Welsh children prepare to start school, it is clear that their parents are very involved in their upbringing. Princess Catherine has made it a point to prioritise the needs of her children, even adjusting her royal commitments when necessary. Last year, during a particularly busy time for the royal family, she chose to stay at home with Prince George while Prince William attended a ceremony in Singapore. The decision allowed her to support George as he took his secondary school entrance exams, a major milestone in his education.
